In order to assist KSDE staff in developing policies and procedures, etc. and also in some situations to comply with federal/state guidelines, Kansas educators and stakeholders are invited submit comments regarding non-regulatory guidance. After the comment period noted, KSDE staff will review all comments prior to finalizing such policies and procedures.

KSDE is seeking feedback from the field regarding revisions to the Technology Plan Rubric used by local districts for developing technology plans.  We would appreciate comments and feedback on any section of the rubric, including the scoring measures (Approaches Requirements, Meets Requirements, Exemplary), titles, vocabulary, etc.  Our goal is to clarify the rubric to ensure districts have a clear understanding of what is expected in each section of the Technology Plan.

The Kansas State Department of Education welcomes input from the field in regard to the Kansas Assessment Program. Due to recent reductions in both State and Federal funds, KSDE must consider delaying or eliminating several elements of the Kansas Assessment Program.

In response to the Kansas State Board of Education support of the 21st Century Partnership initiative and the decision to integrate the academic and career standards, the Kansas Department of Education has developed “profiles” of the 21st Century Learner and Learning Environment. These profiles can assist educators in a re-design of their schools or classrooms and will help guide the work of the department in creating integrated standards for Career Academics. We invite your feedback on this important document.

You are invited to review and submit comments on the Integrated Improvement Plans for Schools. These plans will be available for all schools to use as a resource. Some schools will be required to submit one of these plans in response to not meeting requirements for one or more accountability systems. Input will be gathered on the Integrated Improvement Plans throughout the coming school year and used to make revisions. Read More »
