As the demand for mathematical literacy increases, teachers face challenges on how to help students make sense of the mathematics they are learning. These workshops offer an opportunity for participating teams to learn strategies and identify resources that increase student understanding and promote enthusiasm for learning mathematics. The workshops will also look at what research says about practices that influence student learning.
There will be two workshops to choose from:
November 4-5, 2009
Garden City, Lee Richardson Zoo, 312 Finnup Drive, "Lecture Hall" and "Classroom". Participants are responsible for making their own lodging reservations. Please see the link above in the top right corner for a listing of local lodging.
November 18-19, 2009 (REGISTRATION FOR THIS SITE IS FULL)
Topeka, Ramada Inn, 420 SE 6th Street, "Madison Ballroom" and "Jefferson Hall". A block of rooms for this location has been reserved at the rate of $77 per night. Please call 785-234-5400 to make reservations.
