This is an opportunity for participants to learn why the stages of second language acquisition are important and what their instructional implications are, to know how to apply the instructional strategies for ELLs in K-12 mainstream classes, to begin to build the school's/district's capacity to provide the Classroom Instruction that Works with English Language Learners workshop to other educators in the school or district, and to learn and practice skills necessary to establish high standards for professional development in order to deliver Classroom Instruction that Works with English Language Learners with quality, fidelity, intensity, and consistency.

Registration is required, but there is not a fee. Registration includes a workbook, breakfast and lunch. This training is targeted to teachers and administrators who have English Language Learners, especially those who do not have an ESOL endorsement. Please register online prior to Oct. 29th in order to ensure that sufficient handouts and meals are available.
